Completing Tufts Pediatric Dental Sleep Apnea Mini-Residency provides me with the foundational education to recognize the risks and understand the treatment options for Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) in children and infants.
This was my introduction to the clinical journey of treating this surprisingly common condition. As a result, I have a greater understanding and appreciation for the value of building a comprehensive team of providers in the community to provide complementing and comprehensive care. Often there is no one modality in treatment, so building a network of trained providers is critical to care and involves working with pediatric dentists, orthodontists, ENT physicians, myofunctional therapists, and acupuncturists, among others.
My experience at Tufts School of Dental Medicine reinforces my belief that to be the best, you train with the best. Continued training and education allows me to remain a leader in our community in dental sleep medicine for the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea.
