Cook’s Pots & Tabletops really provided a great class this evening with John and Caprial Pence bringing a taste of Spain to Eugene. I have attended a few cooking classes and I have to say that this is one of the best in all regards. The instruction was great and the food was even better.
One of the great things about the classes at Cook’s Pots & Tabletops is that they use locally sourced products and support local business. Produce from Capella Market, , seafood from Newman’s Fish, meat from Long’s Meat Market and dairy from Lochmead Dairy allows us to find the best ingredients for preparing the best foods. Combine that with the great farmer’s markets in our community and we are truly fortunate to have the food choices available that we do.
Now back to the class …
John and Caprial mixed humor and playful bickering in their instruction and dispelled all internet rumors about their divorce. (Joke of course!)
The menu was solid from top to bottom.
Shrimp and chorizo skewers with honey herb glaze in preparation, amazingly good and amazingly easy.
Shrimp and chorizo skewers with honey herb glaze and potatoes brava with ham.
Paella prep was a feast of colors and smells, a great entertainment dish to prepare.
The final product … paella to die for!!
Quality ingredients …
lead to quality results.
Thank you John and Caprial for sharing your expertise and passion about preparing and sharing good food.
I want to thank Cook’s Pots & Tabletops for bringing another great cooking class to Eugene. I’ve said it before, if you haven’t attended one their classes I would highly recommend that you do. And if you do, tell them that Dr Don sent you!
