Artist Statement

This show features a series of dream-like images created through the use of intentional camera movement and unusual perspectives.

This fusion of realism and abstraction plays with our sense of boundaries; familiar images become metaphorical as the camera reinterprets light, color and form.

The result is a collection of familiar and iconic images that call on the viewer to consider new ways of seeing.

Where do you find your inspiration?

I find inspiration in the complexity, sublimity, and nuance of daily life. My approach to photography is an attempt to find the beauty and interest in everyday moments.

Favorite thing to do in or around Eugene…

The Ridgeline trails are a favorite spot for an in-town training ride or vigorous walk with Bruno the Frenchie.

Quote that inspires your creativity…

“Photography takes an instant out of time, altering life by holding it still.”
