“A Picture Perfect Year”

The 2013 art program in my office was a year of photography, aptly titled “A Picture Perfect Year.” It was an amazing year of quarterly exhibits featuring 7 great local photographers, and for a couple of them their first public showing

The artist reception and open house tonight kicked off the final exhibit of 2013, October-December, and featured two very talented and enthusiastic photographers, Russ Tomlin and John Sconce. The turn out for the reception was exceptional, the energy was great and it was a nice night to share art and conversation with people from the community with a common interest … supporting local art and artists.

ART 1

John Sconce (left side) and Russ Tomlin are two quality people who also are quality photographers. One doesn’t always go with the other, but in this case it does.

ART 2

There was a good flow of people throughout the evening and it gave the photographers ample opportunity to discuss the particulars of their work and interests.

ART 3

This picture represents why I continue to enjoy showing art and supporting local artists. The look of happiness and pride on Russ‘ face says it all, and for me it is so rewarding to be a part of that.

You can find more information on the artists at their websites, www.tomlinphotography.com for Russ Tomlin and www.rustytruckphoto.com for John Sconce. Check out their sites and consider purchasing their work as a great holiday gift to give. I encourage you to support the local arts.

Watch for the announcements for the 2014 art schedule, there are a lot of talented artists in our community that have yet to show in my office. If 2013 was “A Picture Perfect Year” than 2014 will be “Catching Lightening in a Jar”, you won’t want to miss it.
